A Special Project : Bridal Shower Invitations

March 6, 2017

I’ve been working on a special project lately; bridal shower invitations. My friend De Anna is getting married in April and I’ve been hard at work getting the shower and bachelorette invitations out the door. DeAnna and I have been friends for 12 years and I wanted to use my talents to put something special together for her bridal shower.

A Backstory

Did you know that before my days as a Project Manager I was a designer? Right after college I worked as a layout designer at a small publishing company in Wisconsin. After 9 months of designing I was starting to feel uninspired. Coincidentally, around this time I received an opportunity to work at an agency in Minneapolis, (my dream job!). I took it. Mallory the designer wasn’t totally left behind – she comes out every once in awhile. In full force at that.

I designed mine and Jesse’s wedding invitations, programs and menu cards three years ago. I haven’t done much since then; until a few weeks ago.

The shower Invitations

My goal in creating the shower invitations and the bachelorette party invites was to be sure they fell within her wedding theme. In order to ensure this I checked in with DeAnna before designing anything. She sent me some links from around the web and I got to work. The wedding colors are black, white and gold with an emphasis on big, bold black and white stripes.

THE RESULT:

I am so so happy with how these turned out. To stick within the theme I paired the invitations with a beautiful shimmery gold envelope. They look so bomb, I’ll follow up with photos of the whole suite in a few days (I tried to shoot everything tonight but the light was HORRIBLE!).

How do you think they turned out? Hit up the comments section to let me know!
